My BALANCING approach

Mind

We mostly live in our mind. It is a chatterbox that never gives up in reminding us of our past and of our mistakes. Did you know though that you do have the power to control it? You aren't your mind. Your mind is just thoughts and only you can believe them or validate them further. I like to call my mind "Karen." When "Karen" is bored, jealous, judging, angry, sad, or even joyful and giddy, I still remind myself that my mind isn't really me. It's just a brain downloaded with all sorts of old beliefs, new beliefs, emotions and feelings. What happens in my mind, often trips up my body, which also isn't me. When it's my time to leave this earth, the only thing that comes with me is my soul. In order to stay in touch with my soul, I have to learn to manage my mind and my body. Both are connected. The mind directly impacts the body. Negative thoughts and holding onto old beliefs can cause physical ailments. Unpacking bad beliefs and negative thoughts can actually create healing in your body. Body

The body is an amazing organism. We are truly a work of art, but we often don't treat our body for the value it offers us. We fill it with processed, unhealthy foods. We would never put bad gas in our cars, but yet everyday we stop at McDonald's and fill our beautiful vessels with food that turned into gas would choke out any car. Then, we don't understand why we are tired and restless. We don't understand why we are plagued with depression and anxiety. You may not want to hear this, but you need to. It all starts with nutrition. Eating healthy in America is hard, but you can take control. You have the power within you to overcome our cultural norms and take back your body. Emotions

Our emotions are signals, but most of us don't know how to manage or read them. We weren't taught. In fact, many of us were so busy managing the emotions of our parents, that we completely lost our way and don't know what to do with our own emotions now. Truth is, they don't have to ruin or control your day. You do have power over them. They just want to be seen, felt and heard, like the rest of us. Spirit

Our spirit isn't about religion. It is eternal and it is created from the creator of the Universe. I call our creator God and I try my best to keep my eyes on his will, not mine. At the same time, we all still have to navigate the ups and downs of being on Earth. You don't have to believe like I do. Your path of spiritual awakening may be different than mine, and that's okay. I believe we are all connected and united, no matter what our beliefs. When our beliefs become the "right one," then we form a superiority complex and all that does is harm, judge and divide. My life coach is Jesus. I see his life as a demonstration of perfect love. He practiced kindness, peace, acceptance, forgiveness and emulated love and hope. He's my connection point, and he keeps me safe, loved and protected, even when I don't feel it. I also connect using the Holy Spirit. Again, these are my connection points and beliefs. It's important that you find your own, and you can simply thru meditation, prayer and mindfulness.
